“Everyone smiles when they see my needle felted creatures.” says Leah Benedict, the fiber artist behind Hollyhock Gallery.
“My fiber creature sculptures have evolved over a three year period beginning as a hobby. As I created too many to house, my family remarked, “people love them, you ought to sell them.” I began marketing them at craft fairs, with great success, and can now offer them in shops and galleries. My love for dogs is evident in my work. I studied Textile Design art at SUNY FIT, have a Bachelor of Studio Arts and have taught art for 20 years.”
